Dr. Alex Bigham

Alex Bigham, DC is the CEO of Novocur Pain Management Clinics. He brings over 16 years of health care experience in both traditional and alternative clinical settings. Dr. Bigham opened the first Novocur Pain Management Clinic in 2005 with the idea of offering the most advanced traditional treatment options balanced with proven alternative methods. Novocur employs Anesthesia and Pain Fellowship trained Medical Doctors that have the latest training and expertise in the field of Pain Management. Dr. Bigham’s role is to guide and oversee the direction of Novocur and also acts as the company spokesperson.

Dr. Thakkar

Dr. Thakkar is board certified in Anesthesia and board certified in Pain Management.  Dr. Thakkar completed his residency at Saint Louis University followed by a Pain Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati.  He believes that a multi-modal approach to pain management provides the most effective and long-term pain relief.  He utilizes interventional pain procedures, a variety of medications, physical therapy referrals, and osteopathic manipulation.  Although Dr. Thakkar is fellowship-trained in all aspects of pain management, he specializes in neuromodulation (spinal cord stimulation), treatment of reflex sympathetic dystrophy, chronic headaches, and knee pain.  Dr. Thakkar is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, and North American Neuromodulation Society and has presented multiple pain management topics at the national conferences for each of these organizations.  Outside of work, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his rescue dog and cat.

Dr. Southwick

Dr. Southwick received his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1984 and completed his Anesthesiology residency in 1987.  He was Medical Director for the Pain Center and Anesthesiologist for Boone Hospital Medical Center in Columbia, MO for 11 years.  In 1992, he was certified by the American Academy of Pain Management.  He has provided care to patients in multiple centers during his career and enjoys the climate and setting in Arizona.  He has active licenses in Kansas, Missouri, and Arizona.  He has been involved on a state and national level as a delegate for his Anesthesia Society to the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Debbie

Debbie joined the Novocur team in July, 2010 as our Patient Care Coordinator. Her dedication to working in the health care field has resulted in over 25 years experience in many phases of specialty practice patient care.  She will be the one to assist you with all of your scheduling needs, verify your insurance benefits and answer all your questions regarding your treatment options at Novocur. It is her goal to provide you with a comfortable and positive experience during the process.  She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her two daughters.

Keely Soto

Keely Soto has been with Novocur since 2010 as Office Manager. After completing her studies at University of Dallas in Foreign Language in 1981, she began translating documents for prospective radial keratotomy patients. This led her into her interest of the medical field.  She has over 29 years of experience managing all aspects of a medical practice; from billing to overseeing patient care and ensuring their satisfaction.  A native Arizonan, she adores all aspects of the state and in her spare time,  enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband and three boys, doting on her Chihuahua, Frida.
