Peripheral neuropathy generally refers to tingling, numbness or pain typically from damage to long the nerves that communicate sensory information from your feet/lower legs or from hands/lower arms.  Often the pattern of body involvement is described as a stocking and glove distribution area. Neuropathy can cause damage to motor nerves as well, which may manifest as muscle weakness or wasting.
